About Us

Ask a Midwife was established by Sarah Waugh, a dedicated advocate for maternal and newborn well-being who has always prioritized a healthy lifestyle. Frustrated with the inadequate maternal care available in America, Sarah pursued studies at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery, obtaining credentials as both a Licensed Midwife and Certified Professional Midwife.

Desiring to serve as a reliable safety net for expectant mothers, Sarah fondly refers to herself as the "back pocket midwife." After encountering numerous requests and inquiries during her fieldwork, she recognized the need for an accessible and affordable alternative to address the essential knowledge for new mothers. Whether the questions involve pregnancy-related topics such as lab results, ultrasound reports, screenings, tests, medications, vaccines, or any other concerns, Ask a Midwife is committed to providing comprehensive support.

Our mission is to enhance your understanding of the childbirth process, offering insights into the reasons behind various aspects and fostering a sense of comfort and confidence throughout your unique experience. Regardless of your healthcare provider, location, or stage in the childbearing process, Ask a Midwife is here to assist you every step of the way.
